OUR TEAM
THE SAME FACES, EVERY WEEK.
We are a small, deliberate team. Every participant is supported by no more than two or three workers. Jessica matches each pairing personally, and once a team is built around someone, it stays.

CONSTANT STAFF CHANGES
For many families, the hardest part of support isn’t the tasks. It’s constantly starting over with new people.
FOUNDER & DIRECTOR
JESS ROMANO
Jess is the founder and director of Empowered Care Collective, a boutique Melbourne based support company built around consistency, trust and genuine long term support relationships.
With more than 6 years experience in the disability sector, Jess has worked closely alongside people with a wide range of support needs across both home and community settings. Through this experience, she recognised a growing gap in the industry between what participants truly needed and what they were often receiving – reliable, familiar support from people who genuinely knew them.
Driven by the belief that quality support should feel steady, respectful and relationship based, Jess created Empowered Care Collective with a strong focus on consistency first care. Rather than large rotating rosters, ECC was intentionally built around a small, dependable team who value communication, follow through and meaningful connection.
Jess is passionate about creating support environments where people feel comfortable, understood and genuinely supported in their everyday lives, while also building a company culture centred around trust, calm communication and high quality care.
I never wanted to build an agency. I wanted to build the kind of provider I would have wanted for the families I worked with as an independent.
CAREULLY CHOSEN. PROPERLY INTRODUCED.
Who shows up at your door matters more than any policy document. Here is how we make sure the right person does.
Recruited for fit
We look for workers who genuinely value long term participant relationships, not just shift work. Personality, reliability and communication style matter just as much as experience.
Matched on personality
Jess personally matches each worker to participants based on communication style, energy, interests and routines – not just availability.
Introduced through buddy shifts
New workers shadow an existing team member for the first one to four shifts. Participants are never expected to meet a stranger cold, and workers learn the routine before leading it themselves.
Supported to stay
Weekly check ins. Quarterly face to face meetings. Balanced rosters to prevent burnout. We invest in our team because consistency only works when people stay.
A SMALL TEAM, BY DESIGN
We deliberately keep our team small so every worker can hold real, long-term relationships. Our workers ask not to share full names publicly out of respect for the families they support.
